SUMMARY

Works under the general supervision of the Director of Mental Health. The LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LPE, SCHOOL BASED THERAPISTS are responsible for providing Mental Health Services in accordance with established rules and regulations. They also coordinate the efforts of Pathfinder to provide mental health services directly and in conjunction with other mental health entities. |

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists Psychiatrist in the preparation, development, and review of eligibility, assesses and reviews documents. Provides direct individual group therapy and crisis case management. Provides technical assistance to other Pathfinder staff regarding mental health policies and procedures. Serves as a liaison between various Pathfinder departments and mental health providers regarding coordination of functions. Coordinates efforts to integrate mental health and Pathfinder care plans,and progress reports. Provides orientation and training to Pathfinder staff and participating mental health providers and participating DD providers. Supervises paraprofessional staff. Other duties as assigned. Able to plan, organize, coordinate, and direct the work of others. Able to interview, obtain, evaluate, and diagnose information related to problems and services needed. Able to provide treatment, guidance, and counseling to clients. Able to serve as a social advocate for clients by providing information, and evaluating and monitoring treatment plans. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have skills that enable interacting with professionals, parents, individuals needing services, and the public. Needs to have awareness of resources within the community and the state. Communication in verbal and written language that facilitates a high level of rapport. The ability to plan develop delegate and monitor a wide array of activities. Skills in supervising people and in training persons.
